Post-Award Metrics (PAM)

Post-Award Metrics (PAM)

The Post-Award Metrics (PAM) is a customized SPA report ran monthly to help departments manage their sponsored awards; improve communication between departments, SPA, and OSP; and provide visibility into potential financial risks for departments and the School.

Access PAM Files

SPA runs the PAMs files for each department on the ~16th of every month, therefore, departments must add their comments by the 15th of every month

PAM Meetings and Schedule

SPA, OSP, and department staff meet quarterly to discuss the medium-to-high risk items on the Post-Award Metrics. Prior to the meetings, SPA will highlight the medium-to-high risk items that will be discussed during the meetings (see the SPA highlighting schedule on the last row of the PAM schedule listed below). We request that departments update their department comments for the highlighted items by the 15th of every month, as they will be discussed during the meetings

Note for ADFs: Laura Chau and Catalina Diaz coordinate the quarterly PAM meetings with department ADFs, SPA, and OSP. The PAM meetings are open to your department's administrative staff. If you would like additional GMs/team members to attend, please forward them a copy of the outlook invite or ask Laura Chau or Catalina Diaz to include them to the list of required invitees.

PAM Department Comments

Since the PAM files are so complex, it takes SPA a few days to complete them for all departments and transfer the comments from the previous month's files to the new files. If the current month's PAM file is not listed in your department's PAM SharePoint page, it's an indication that SPA is actively preparing your department's files and they are locked for comments. When the new PAM files are available for your department to access, you'll receive a SharePoint notification email.

Note: The SharePoint notification email will contain the link to the PAM file of that particular month. A new link is generated every month, making it easy for you to add your department comment to an old PAM file, which will NOT appear on the new file. To avoid adding your comments to an old PAM file, we ask that you access the most current PAM file, using the department PAM SharePoint links provided below.
