NSF Submissions

New Disclosure Guidelines for NSF Submissions due on or after October 4, 2021

 

Biosketch

  1. All academic, professional, or institutional appointments, beginning with the current appointment” (in reverse chronology). All current domestic or foreign professional appointments outside of the individual’s academic, professional, or institutional appointments at Harvard.
  2. For help identifying where to report your disclosure information within proposals and project reports refer to the table: NSF Pre-award and Post-award Disclosures Relating to the Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending Support.
  3. Use of SciENcv is strongly encouraged for Biosketch preparation and updates.  For assistance with SciENcv  see the NSF SciENcv FAQs and refer to the instructional videos available on HTP (SciENcv course bundle on HTP) that includes

  5. Requirements and changes to NSF’s Biosketch
    • A Biosketch is required for each individual identified as senior personnel.
    • Page limit increased to 3 pages for individual identified as senior personnel.
    • Publication citations “include full citation information, including (where applicable and practical) the names of all authors.” For publications with multiple authors, senior personnel may choose, at their discretion, to list one or more authors and then “et al.”
 

Current and Pending Support

  1. This section has been updated and now includes a brief statement describing the overall objectives and overlap with other projects. This statement:
    • Describes the overall objectives of the project/proposal or in-kind contribution and
    • Summarizes potential overlap with any active or pending proposal or in-kind contribution with the proposed project; in terms of scope, budget, or person-months planned or committed to the project by the individual.
