January 14, 2022
For many years, the NIH and other federal agencies have required organizations to obtain a Dun & Bradstreet DUNS number issued as part of the registration process to apply for and receive federal funding. By April 2022, the federal government will phase out the use of DUNS numbers [149617367] and move to a 12-character unique entity identifier (UEI) [UNVDZNFA8R29].
Upcoming Changes
- In October, we will begin to see our UEI [UNVDZNFA8R29] populated in the Institutional Profile File (IPF) [3212904]
- In October, our UEI will be populated on Page One of Notices of Award. Our UEI will also be transmitted in award data reported to the HHS Tracking Accountability in Government Grants System (TAGGS) and USASpending.gov
- In October, our FDP Expanded Clearinghouse organization’s profile will reflect our UEI
- For applications due on or after January 25, 2022, grant application forms and instructions will be updated to reflect and require UEI instead of DUNS. See Goodbye FORMS-F, Hello FORMS-G
