With the extended Memorial Day and Independence Day holidays this year and the June and July NIH deadlines approaching, we are reminding our Harvard Chan community of SPA’s internal proposal review deadlines and the importance of meeting the Provost’s review deadlines. 

We ask departments to please create the GMAS shells as soon as you are aware of a proposal, so that your SRA can plan for appropriate coverage. Please note, you could create the shell with minimal info and finish completing it at a later date - our main focus is to have the shells created. Creating the GMAS shell generates a flag/action item in the request dashboard, which your SRA uses as a tool to track upcoming proposals.  

Reminder: If an NIH grant application due date falls on a federal holiday, the application deadline is automatically extended to the next business day. 

Memorial Day 

• Harvard Chan School is closed Monday (5/31/21) – Tuesday (6/1/21) 
• Submissions for the 6/5/2021 deadline are due to SPA no later than Tuesday, May 25 by 10 AM 

Independence Day 

• Harvard Chan is closed Friday (7/2/21) – Monday (7/5/21)  
• Submissions for the 7/5/2021 resubmission deadline are due to SPA no later than Wednesday, June 23 by 10 AM
